My name is Jade Thomas, I'm a photographer who specialises in a range of subjects and genres. I have worked alongside various established businesses and have had my work published internationally.
Please take the time to read about my start into the captivating world of Photography…
How it all started:
I started to take an interest in Photography in about 2011, which was around the time when I was about to take Photography as a GCSE, my Grandmother bought me a 5mp camcorder. I would take it out with me and just shoot photographs at any random object. Once I was able to use it well I started to produce good quality photographs, from there I really started to take an intrest in photography and so, I decided to open up a Photography page on facebook on the 11th of June 2011, to be precise. I loved snapping photographs, uploading them to my page and receiving positive feedback, comments and compliments from various people.
I really, really wanted a bridge camera. I eventually received my 'Fujifilm HS28EXR 16mp Bridge camera' for my 15th birthday, in July of 2012. I fell in love with my new camera and photography! It was at this point in time that my photographs were progressing into professional looking images.
I was unable to take Photography as a GCSE because my parents and I decided that it would be best for me to be Home educated, for various reasons. I was really disappointed that I was unable to study the wonderful subject of Photography! So I decided to look for Photography courses and after much searching, I came across the "NCFE Award in Digital Image Manipulation" course I decided to enrol and set out to follow my dream! After completeing the course I enrolled on an 'NCFE Level One photography' course and a Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Photography, which I completed with a Distinction Level in all of the modules.
One of the first steps I have taken to becoming a better photographer, and advancing is this wonderful subject is purchasing a Canon 700D camera, in early 2015.
After completeing my BTEC, I decided that it was time for me to expand on my knowledge, skills and love for photography. I went for an interview at London Metropolitan University and was given and unconditional offer to study on their Foundation of the Arts Photography course at their facilities and have since graduated with first class honours.
After receiving a direct entry to study the University of West London I graduated with Second Class Honours - First division.
Many thanks for reading about my start into Photography!
